World No.1 Rafael Nadal is set for a opening round tie against US veteran wildcard Robby Ginepri in a bid for his ninth French Open crown following the recent draw.
The 13-time Grand Slam winner from Spain has a 59-1 win record at Roland Garros since he first appeared in Paris in 2005, his only loss being to Robin Soderling of Sweden in a 2009 fourth round match.
According to Sport24, Nadal is facing a quarter-final tie against fellow Spaniard David Ferrer, who notched up a rare win against him recently, with either Australian Open champion Stanislas Wawrinka or Britain's Andy Murray waiting in the semi-finals.
However, the report mentioned that given his uncustomary struggles on clay in the buildup to Roland Garros, he is sharing the favourite tag with world No.2 Serb Novak Djokovic, who will be bidding for his first French Open title.
