Mamta Sharma, Chairperson of National Commission for Women has demanded Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav's resignation following reports of more attacks against women in his state.
She said, "Chief Minister should now resign considering the condition of women in Uttar Pradesh. It is very shameful that the government is unable to protect their women."
She further alleged that even the police is not under their control and the administration is slipping from their hands. She suggested that DGP should also be changed.
The only remedy for the continuous rape cases in UP, according to her, is a change in the UP administration.
The increase in crimes against women portrays that law in order in UP has decreased extensively, she added.
