The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports has given a cash award of Rs. 25 lakhs to Indian badminton star Saina Nehwal for her recent performance at the All England Open Badminton Championship
Nehwal was the runner-up at the All England Open Badminton Championship 2015 held in Birmingham (United Kingdom) from March 8 to 13.
The government said that the cash award has been given to Nehwal from the Sports Ministry's Scheme of Special Awards to Medal Winners in International Sports Events.
