The market continued to perform strong with the Sensex trading up by 427.53 points at 26391.50. The Nifty also gained 129.35 points, trading near 8028.50.
Major gainers that outperformed in the market, included Axis Bank, ICICI Bank, M & M, HDFC Bank and SBI.
Tata Motors, HUL, GAIL, Bharti Airtel and Bajaj Auto were among the losers in the Sensex.
Analysts in the market have suggested that a weaker dollar would provide some support to crude prices. Oil prices dipped early on fresh signs. The lower prices came despite the US Fed keeping interest rates at historic lows.
