A Nigerian football agent has reportedly been caught on camera boasting about his ability to fix matches at the upcoming Brazil World Cup by bribing players.
This has come after Britain's National Crime Agency (NCA) investigated allegations that a friendly between Nigeria and Scotland had been targeted by criminal syndicates.
According to The Guardian, in a sting operation carried out by a British daily, Henry Chukwuma Okoroji was filmed saying that the Nigerian national team is willing to take bribes of 50,000 euros to deliberately get a yellow card and 100,000 euros for a red card.
The former player, who was filmed boasting these claims at a Milan hotel in April, also claimed he has already recruited two players and has the ability to influence team selection through a senior figure close to the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF).
Stating that the players are easily bribed because of the poor pay structure in Nigeria, Okoroji said that he is '100 percent' confident that there is no risk that any illegal approaches could be reported to FIFA, given that he have already had someone do 'this type of thing'.
Okoroji also claimed to have enlisted five Italian players to fix matches in the past and claimed he would be travelling to Nigeria to confirm the fixes are going ahead, the report added.
