Bharatiya Janata Party leader Sushil Modi on Monday said the political drama in Bihar from the last 20 months has pushed the state back by 20 years and alleged that Janata Dal (United) leader Nitish Kumar is responsible for the ongoing political instability and constitutional crisis.

"From the last 20 months there is a political drama in Bihar, as a result of which Bihar has been pushed back by 20 years. Nitish Kumar is responsible for the political instability and constitutional crisis in Bihar," he told the media here.

Sushil Modi further said that governance had become the biggest casualty in Bihar after the split between JD (U) and the BJP.

"It is not only during Manjhi's regime but even when Nitish Kumar was the Chief Minister," he added.

The former Bihar deputy chief minister also said that the BJP would not form government in the state.

"We will stay in the opposition for the next six months. We do not claim to power nor claim the chief ministerial post. We are not going to form any government in Bihar," he added.

"This is a funny situation, the JD (U) is in power and now they want to remove the BJP and be in the opposition too," he added.

He also mocked at former chief minister Nitish Kumar for the continuous resignations that he has tendered in his political career so far.

"This is fourth resignation in Nitish Kumar's political career and as usual few months after his resignation he wants to make a comeback," he said.

Earlier in the day, Bihar Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi said that he has no intention of dissolving the state assembly or recommending President's rule.

"I have no intention of dissolving the assembly or recommending President's rule. I have come to Delhi to meet government ministers, not BJP officials," said Manjhi.

Manjhi, who is presently in Delhi amid speculations that he may take support from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), earlier on Sunday met Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh.
