Democratic People's Republic of Korea Foreign Minister Ri Su Yong called on External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj on Monday, discussing issues of mutual interest including India's security concerns.
This is the first ever visit at the Foreign Minister level from North Korea to India.
In their meeting, Swaraj conveyed to Ri the significance of peace and stability in the Korean peninsula for India's Act East policy.
Foreign Minister Ri expressed his country's appreciation for the humanitarian assistance provided by India and sought additional assistance in this regard.
Earlier in the day, Ri had called on Vice President Mohammad Hamid Ansari before visiting Mahatma Gandhi's memorial at Raj Ghat .
