Etihad Airways has introduced "Flying Nanny" for easier air-travel experience with children.

Etihad's vice president of guest services, Aubrey Tiedt, said that the Flying Nanny role demonstrates their understanding of their guests' needs and their commitment to making the journey as relaxing and comfortable as possible, News.com.au reported.

Tiedt added that more than 500 staff were now qualified Flying Nannies, who help out families by seating children, serving their meals, refilling bottles and providing activities such as face-painting, craft and magic tricks, after having undergone specialist training at the world renowned Norland College.

The course includes training in child psychology and sociology to help the nannies identify the different types of developmental stages that children go through.

She continued that the Flying Nanny will liaise with parents and use their experience and knowledge to make the travel experience easier, without any extra cost to passengers.
