Even though South Africa might have overthrown Australia from the top of the ICC's Test rankings, Michael Clark's side may have got the upper hand in a battle of tweets.
After South Africa's captain Hashim Amla got his hands back on the ICC Mace as his side returned to the top of the Test rankings, their twitter handle @officialCSA decided to have some fun and sent a cheeky tweet to @CricketAus, Sport24 reported.
However, the Australian team, who is well known for its sledging, got the upper hand in the battle of wits as they replied in their typical fashion through their Twitter account by mocking South Africa's lack of Cricket World Cup silverware.
Australia has won four World Cup titles, while South Africa has not even got one to their name. And the Australians were quick to highlight the fact through their cheeky response to the South African's tweet.
South Africa would be looking to break their duck, ironically, in Australia, next February and March, as the nation will host the 2015 World Cup, the report added.
