Manchester City midfielder Pablo Zabaleta is reportedly desperate for his Argentine teammate Lionel Messi to join him at the Etihad on a permanent basis.
Zabaleta will be tasked with halting the Barcelona star when City faces the Spanish champions in the Champions League on Feb 18.
According to the Mirror, however, Zabaleta dreams that one day Messi will decide to bring his brilliance to City to swap the Mediterranean for Mancunian way, and he said that he has spoken to his old friend about City.
Stating that Messi has asked him about the experience of playing in City, Zabaleta also said that he would like to show Messi around Manchester and take him out to dinner on his 'favourite' fish and chips.
Zabaleta became a close friend of Messi, when he signed for Barcelona's rivals Espanyol in 2005, the report added.
