The Energy and Resources Institute director general, Rajendra Kumar Pachauri, who has been accused of sexual harassment by a 29-year-old former woman employee, on Thursday was granted interim bail till March 27 by a local court in Delhi on medical grounds.

Under the conditions of his bail, he will reportedly not be able to leave the country, nor indirectly or directly contact any TERI employee. He will also pledge to not influence witnesses and will be required to cooperate in the probe whenever needed.

On Tuesday, Pachauri stepped down as the chairman of the UN's Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change.

The TERI chief had been granted anticipatory bail till February 26 by a local court in Delhi on Monday on medical grounds as well as on merit.

A case under IPC Section 354 has been registered against Pachauri at the Lodhi Colony police station in the national capital.
