Pakistan's Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif has said that it is important to resolve the Kashmir issue to ensure peace in the region.
Addressing a passing-out parade held at Pakistan Military Academy in Kakul, the army chief said that the Kashmir issue should be resolved in light of United Nations resolutions, the Dawn reports.
Around 20 people are said to have died on both sides of the LoC in cross border firings between the Indian army and Pakistani forces.
India and Pakistan have both accused one another of ceasefire violations along the LoC and working boundary in the past several days, with both sides reporting casualties.
