Terming the unprovoked firing by Pakistani Rangers along the International Border on Monday morning as 'shocking and a grave incident', the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) said that it reflected Islamabad's deep frustration over having lost the ploy and plot to internationalize the Kashmir issue during the 69th session of the U.N. General Assembly.

"What we are seeing on the border today is the sheer frustration of Pakistan, because it lost its plot and ploy to internationalize the issue of Kashmir on the floor of UNGA, and was given a befitting reply by the India Prime Minister Narendra Modi by saying that it has to be bilateral talks, and Pakistan has to shun terrorism if it wants to come and sit for talks on the table," BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra told ANI.

"It's a shocking and a grave incident, the dispensation of the government in the center is a strong one and the Border Security Force (BSF), the army and the government is giving befitting reply to Pakistan," he added.

The attack in the Arnia area of the R S Pura Sector has claimed five lives - all civilians, and injured around 30 others.

Media reports has earlier said that four to five civilians, including two women, were also killed when Pakistani Rangers started fired randomly at Border Security Force posts and civilian areas in the sector at around 1.30 a.m. on Monday.

Heavy mortar shelling was also reported from the area, where some of the shells hit a local bus stop. The firing in Arnia and RS Pura Sectors is still going on.

Meanwhile, unprovoked firing has also been reported at BG sector area of Poonch around 8.30 a.m. this morning. The BSF has replied back with an equal response to the fresh firing fromPakistan.
