Peshawar's Corps Commander Lieutenant General Hidayat-ur-Rehman has said that the Islamic State (IS) terrorist group poses no threat to Pakistan.
According to Dawn News, Hidayat said there was no need to fret about IS' potential presence in the country.
He said that there were several defections in the Taliban who are joining the IS but Pakistan need not worry about it since they are well aware about how to tackle it.
The security forces in the country have been dealing with the Taliban for over 12 years and IS was not different from Taliban, said Hidayat.
He added that the militant havens in Pakistan have been completely destroyed and that Taliban would not be hiding anywhere now.
