Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday congratulated his Japanese counterpart Shinzo Abe for the latter's victory in the election to the Lower House of the Japanese Parliament.
In the telephonic conversation, Prime Minister Modi said that the result reflected the strong confidence that Japan had in Prime Minister Abe's leadership and economic policies, adding that his new term will also be good for India and the world.
The two leaders also discussed their meetings during Prime Minister Modi's visit to Japan and at the India-ASEAN Summit and G-20 Summit in Myanmar and Australia respectively. They also reaffirmed their commitment to work together to further strengthen the strategic partnership between New Delhi and Tokyo.
Prime Minister Abe further stated that he looked forward to visiting India next year.
