The Congress party on Friday strongly condemned the two incidents of terror attacks in the Jammu and Kashmir, and asked Prime Minister Modi to present a blueprint to prevent Pakistan-sponsored terror attacks in the nation.
"We request the honourable Prime Minister to answer how he proposes to protect our borders, particularly those of J-K. How does the government propose to protect the integrity of J-K and the life, liberty and property of the people of that state?" Congress leader Randeep Surjewala told ANI.
"It is time the Prime Minister made a statement to the nation as well as the Parliament detailing the blueprint and a plan to protect our borders and to ensure that any such provocative incidents where our jawans lose lives daily, where Pakistan pushing its terrorists into Indian territory more and more will not be tolerated," he added.
Surjewala was reacting to two cases of terror attacks in Jammu and Kashmir. The first incident, an alleged suicide attack in the Uri sector reportedly left 11 army personnel and three policemen dead, with six militants also killed. The second attack, which took place in Srinagar, has left one person dead as per reports.
Expressing his condolences on behalf of his party, Surjewala also claimed that the number of such incidents in Jammu and Kashmir had increased.
"We express our deepest condolences to the armymen and policemen who lost their lives in this gruesome terrorist attack by Pakistan. We also salute their valour and bravery. Sacrificing one's life for the nation is the most supreme sacrifice. We bow before them," he said.
"This is the 150th incident of the violation of the Line of Control in an attack by Pakistan of small or big magnitude in the six months since the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government has come to the Centre," he added.
