PM Modi's #SelfieWithDaughter trends on Twitter

Prime Minister Narendra Modi's recent initiative to post selfie with daughters on social media #selfiewithdaughter, as a part of his Beti Bachao Campaign, has fetched him a lot of praise worldwide.

Following the Prime Minister's Mann Ki Baat address, several fathers as well as mothers across the country tweeted pictures of themselves along with their daughters.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and BJP leader Kiran Bedi also posted their pictures on the micro blogging site along with their daughters.

"And here's my #SelfieWithDaughter. My Daughter, My Pride! #betibachaobetipadhao," Fadnavis tweeted.

Prime Minister Modi earlier in the ninth edition of his 'Mann Ki Baat 'programme today stressed on the campaign to save girls through the social media. During his 20-minutes speech, the Prime Minister mentioned about the 'Beti Bachao Beti Padhao' scheme aimed at saving the girl child.

Lauding Sunil Jaglan, the sarpanch of Haryana's Bibipur village, for taking initiative and posing a selfie with his daughter, he urged all fathers to follow Jaglan's example and post selfie with their daughters on social media #selfiewithdaughter.
