A group of people on Sunday protested outside Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's residence against party leader Prashant Bhushan's controversial Kashmir statement.

The protestors gathered near Kejriwal's Kaushambi residence, and raised slogans against Bhushan's remark on the referendum on the deployment of Army in Kashmir.

A protestor Cheta Sharma said: "We are protesting against Prashant Bhushan's Kashmir referendum statement. Some youths had protested against it but they have imposed false charges and put them in jail. There were false cases against those youths. They are in Indirapuram Jail. We want them to withdraw those cases."

Earlier, Prashant Bhushan had said that a referendum should be carried out in Kashmir on whether or not the Indian Army should be deployed in the Valley to deal with the security situation there.

However, AAP leaders distanced themselves from his views.

Kejriwal later said that he did not agree with Bhushan's views.

"We don't agree with Prashant Bhushan. It's his personal view. Deployment of the Army within the country should be decided on the basis of internal security threat. There is no question of a referendum. But sentiments of locals should be respected," he added.
