Congress-vice president Rahul Gandhi on Monday gave an adjournment motion in the Lok Sabha on the issue of crop damage due to incessant rain and hailstorm.
The current spell of rain and hailstorm in parts of Rajasthan, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and other northern states has raised the fears of kharif crop loss among farmers.
Crops of mustard, cumin and isabgol (psyllium husk) in Jaisalmer, Jodhpur, Sikar and Jhunjhunu, have witnessed significant damages in Rajasthan.
In Jodhpur and other parts of western Rajasthan, hailstorm and thunder showers also affected the Rabi crop.
