Former Pakistani captain Rameez Raja has blamed the lack of a 'sound batting cupboard' and nerves for Pakistan's poor World Twenty20 display against West Indies, which saw them out of the tournament without qualifying for the semi-finals.

The former opener, who plies his expertise on the airwaves as a TV commentator, was part of a band of a select few players who had the honour to represent Pakistan in the now historic victory against England in the 1992 World Cup in Australia

According to www.pakpassion.net, Raja analysed Pakistan's shocking 84-run defeat and said that Pakistan appeared nervous as a unit as compared to a relaxed Caribbean side, which led to them making numerous technical flaws in their performance, adding that their batting performance continued to be as dismal as before.

Stating that it is possible to turn around a team's performance in T20 cricket, Raja also said that Pakistan lost the script completely after the attack was launched by Darren Sammy and Dwayne Bravo, adding that the team's lack of quality batsman makes them repeatedly call on players like Kamran Akmal and Shoaib Malik.
