Former Pakistani Test captain Rashid Latif has reportedly refused to work as chief selector of the national team, just nine days after he was supposed to join the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).
Pakistan Twenty20 captain Mohammad Hafeez stepped down soon after his team's exit from the World T20 while the short contracts of head coach Moin Khan and batting consultant Zaheer Abbas' also expired.
According to Sport24, Latif, who played in 37 Test matches and 166 ODIs in between 1992-2003, said that he has officially refused to work as the chief selector, adding that he does not want to come into controversy.
The former wicketkeeper, who also served as batting coach and head coach of Afghanistan national team, criticized Hafeez's decision to step down and was also vocal against team's poor performance.
