Troubled former England football star Paul Gascoigne has reportedly become the newest celebrity member of the social networking site Twitter, amassing more than 60,000 followers in just a matter of hours.
According to the Daily Express, the former Tottenham Hotspur legend has said that he has received plenty of nice messages from his fans and is looking forward to showing them the 'real Gazza'.
British TV broadcaster Piers Morgan and Gascoigne's former Tottenham teammate Gary Lineker welcomed the alcohol-battling former footballer to Twitter, with Morgan calling Gascoigne the 'greatest British footballer of his lifetime'.
Last month, Gascoigne had claimed that he was targeted by hackers and had 50,000 pounds stolen from his bank account, adding that he has been 'bled dry' by the scam despite once being worth as much as 14 million pounds.
