Bollywood superstar Salman Khan on Friday furnished a bail bond of Rs 30,000 in the Mumbai Sessions Court, before returning to his Bandra home, where a swarm of fans had gathered to catch his glimpse.

Earlier in the day, the Bombay High Court suspended Salman's five year sentence in the 2002 hit-and-run case. He was asked to surrender his passport and submit the bail bond.

Hundreds of ecstatic fans broke into celebrations after the sentence was suspended.

On Wednesday, a Mumbai Sessions Court found Salman guilty of culpable homicide and sentenced him to five years imprisonment.
