Samuel stars in Windies' comfortable win in opening T20 match against England

West Indies won the opening match of the three-match T20 International against England by 27 runs at Kensington Oval in Bridgetown.

Marlon Samuels scored an unbeaten 69 as the West Indies put up a competitive 3-170 and West Indies' wrist-winner Samuel Badree put England on the back foot early taking three wickets as West Indies leveled England at 9-143.

According to News.com.au, England captain Stuart Broad looked optimistic as he said that the loss is certainly not something to panic about because they could not 'get going', which is something that can happen in Twenty20 cricket.

However, Broad has reportedly suggested that he is likely to miss the remaining two matches of he series because of tendonitis in his knee.

Meanwhile, West Indies captain Darren Sammy is worried about his ace spinners as Sunil Narine bowled only two overs and left the field after jarring his right knee trying to make a save on the boundary while Badree, injured the fingers of his bowling hand attempting to take a return catch just before completing his spell, the report added.

Sammy said that they are already without Kieron Pollard and thus they cannot afford to lose another 'key player' with the T20 World Cup just around the corner, the report added.
