Schoolgirls' message to the Beatles gets answered after 50 years

Two British women got the surprise of their life when they received a reply from the Beatles to a message, they had recorded 5 decades ago, while they were still in school.

One of the friends, Barbara Bezant, said that in 1963, she and her pal and Lyn Jeffries were big Beatles fans, so they made a reel-to-reel tape in their bedrooms with silly sound effects and funny voices, which lasted about 15 minutes, and posted it to them, the Daily Express reported.

The long forgotten tape, which resurfaced at a car boot sale in Great Yarmouth, Norfolk, was sent to the BBC's 'One Show' who tracked down Bezant and Jeffries, who had lost touch decades ago.

The duo was invited to the Beatles Museum in Liverpool for an emotional reunion in front of the cameras, where they were handed a golden envelope with a lovely message from Paul McCartney.

McCartney thanked the pair for their lovely tape, adding that it was great to hear that they found each other again after all these years.

Bezant added that whole scenario seems a bit of a dream now, but the great thing is that she has been reunited with a school friend and their little tape didn't go unnoticed after all.
