The second round of reconciliatory talks between Afghanistan and Taliban will take place on July 30 and will 'probably' be hosted by China, officials said.

The deputy chairman of Afghan government's top peace negotiating body, High Peace Council (HPC), Abdul Hakim Mujahid, said discussions and consultation were ongoing between Afghanistan, Pakistan, the United States and China on where to host the meeting, reported The Express Tribune.

Mohammad Ismail Qasimyar, a member of the HPC, added that the meeting would 'most probably' be hosted by China but another HPC official said that it had not been confirmed.

Afghan officials had met Taliban face-to-face for the first time in Murree, Pakistan this month. They had ended the meeting with a decision to converge again for another round of peace talks in the coming weeks.
