Top-seeded Serena Williams displayed another brilliant performance as she swept aside Dutch player Kiki Bertens in straight sets to advance to the next round of the US Open here on Thursday.
The 33-year-old clinched 7-6(7-5), 6-3 win over Bertens to progress to the third round.
Serena will now lock horns with Bethanie Mattek-Sands in third-round match.
Meanwhile, Serena's elder sister Venus Williams also advanced to the next round by defeating opponent Irina Falconi 6-3, 6-7(2-7), 6-2.
