National Security Agency (NSA) whistleblower Edward Snowden has said that Switzerland would be a "great political option" provided the country's "history of neutrality".

According to BBC, Snowden said that he would love to return to Switzerland as he has fond memories of Geneva.

He was speaking via video link to a Geneva audience, from Moscow where he is sheltering from US prosecutors.

Snowden also said that the US authorities had given him no assurance of a fair trial.

US only agreed to not executing him which is not the same as a fair trial, claims Snowden.
