Special prayers were held at Ujjain's Mahakaleshwar temple on the auspicious occasion of Holi on Friday morning.
Thousands of devotees gathered at the temple premises to witness the early morning 'aarti' of the 'shivlinga".
Following the prayer, the priests sprinkled colours at the devotees.
Holi is being celebrated in different parts of the country today. President Pranab Mukherjee, Vice-President Hamid Ansari and Prime Minister Narendra Modi have greeted the nation on the occasion.
