Cricket South Africa has attributed ICC's decision to not award a major cricket event to the nation for the next 10 years to sponsors' requests, with the body announcing hosts for major cricket events in the future at its annual conference in London.

According to sport24, India and England received the lion's share of the tournaments because major sponsors believed they could get more exposure in India and England, pressurizing the ICC to stage big events in those countries.

However, the report added that CSA's Acting CEO Naasei Appiah had expressed South Africa would get more opportunities to host top events in future years.
