Australian player Samantha Stosur has sailed into the second round of the French Open on Monday despite having five stitches in her leg after misjudging a jump in the gym.
The 2011 US Open winner played with heavy strapping on her leg against Puerto Rico's Monica Puig but she showed few signs of discomfort in a 6-1, 6-1 victory.
According to Sport24, Stosur confirmed her accident in the gym, saying that while doing some box jumps, she missed a jump and landed straight on her life, thereby injuring herself.
Stosur further quipped that she saw everything flashing before her eyes at the moment, adding that she would not doing such exercises again.
