External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj on Tuesday arrived in Muscat for her two-day official visit to the Sultanate at the invitation of her Omani counterpart Yousuf bin Alawi bin Abdullah.

During her visit, the two leader are expected to discuss bilateral and regional issues, along with other matters of mutual interest.

Oman is a strategic partner for India in the Gulf region and New Delhi and Muscat accord a high priority to its relationship. The two countries enjoy warm and cordial ties, which can be ascribed to historical maritime trade linkages and the large of the Indian expatriate community in Oman.
