The battle between two of the most subscribed YouTube channels - PewDiePie and T-Series- took a new turn, but barely anyone took notice.

For the first time, T-Series surpassed PewDiePie, by Felix Kjellberg, on Friday, February 22, with about 2,000 subscribers, according to Mashable. However, the victory was short-lived.

YouTube audits accounts to make sure the stats are accurate. During one such audit, PewDiePie lost around 20,000 subscribers at once on Friday, putting T-Series ahead for a very short time.

The YouTuber regained followers and overthrew T-Series. At the time of publishing, social media analytics company SocialBlade, which is doing a live sub count of the channels, is showing the difference above 131,374 between the two channels, and PewDiePie leading with 87,168,970 subscribers.
