Sony Pictures have sealed the deal with Tom Hanks, Ron Howard and Brian Grazer for the third installment based on the Dan Brown novel series, titled 'Inferno.'
While Hanks will reprise his role as Harvard symbologist Robert Langdon, Howard would be back on the director's chair for the project, which would be scripted by David Koepp, and produced by Grazer, Deadline.com reported.
In the story, Langdon awakens in an Italian hospital with amnesia, after which he teams up with doctor named Sienna Brooks, in the hopes to regain his memories and stop a madman from releasing a global plague connected to Dante's Inferno.
Sony and Imagine Entertainment have marked April 2015 in their calendars to start the project's filming in Italy.
