A top military commander of al Qaeda in Yemen has condemned the mass beheadings carried out by the Islamic State, calling its actions "barbarious."
According to CBS News, Nasr bin Ali al-Ansi strongly denounced the group's act of filming and promoting the beheading video for propaganda purposes and asserted that US drone strikes were expanding al Qaeda's popularity in the country.
Al-Ansi appeared in a video to answer the questions asked by journalists on the group's Twitter account.
He commented that filming and promoting it among people in the name of Islam and Jihad was a big mistake and not acceptable whatever the justifications were.
He added that the group's activities were "very barbaric.
