As soon as Donald Trump struck Meryl Streep on Twitter, for her Golden Globes speech, all he got back was 'TROLL.'

Calling her an "overrated actress" and a "Hillary flunky," Trump tweeted, "Meryl Streep, one of the most over-rated actresses in Hollywood, doesn't know me but attacked last night at the Golden Globes. She is a....."

His next tweet read, ""Hillary flunky who lost big. For the 100th time, I never "mocked" a disabled reporter (would never do that) but simply showed him......."

Adding, ""groveling" when he totally changed a 16 year old story that he had written in order to make me look bad. Just more very dishonest media!"

Trolling the US President-elect, people took to their Twitter handle to comment against his tweets.

"@realDonaldTrump *Ivanka, how do you spell liberal again?*" wrote one.

Another wrote, "You'd hope that as president @realDonaldTrump will stop arguing that the only people allowed to speak about him are his personal friends..."

"@realDonaldTrump being a 'Hillary lover' includes fighting for women's rights, LGBT rights & all human rights. #LoveTrumpsHate #MerylStreep," tweeted the third.

On the same note, Trump's response was widely anticipated, with comedian Dana Schwartz among those, to accurately predict Trump's choice of words, tweeting several hours beforehand, "Can't wait for Donald Trump to tweet about how Meryl Streep is overrated."

All these started when Streep, in her acceptance speech for the Golden Globes Cecil B DeMille lifetime achievement award, said she was "stunned" when Trump appeared to mock a disabled reporter, Serge F Kovaleski, at a press conference.
