A nine-year-old girl has become the youngest target of sex crime on Internet in England.
Australia-based Farhad Billimoria used Skype chat logs to send indecent communications to the victim over the Internet for about four weeks from his Box Hill home in 2012, The Age reports.
Billimoria had sexually explicit conversations with the girl and participated in sexual activity with her on a webcam, Melbourne's County Court said.
Meanwhile, the 56-year-old former chef accepted that he had made indecent communications, but denied performing a sex act on webcam with under-16 girl.
He also blamed the girl for instigating him for sexual content online by asking him sex-related questions and claimed that he had tried to answer them "like a parent would".
The Victoria Police sexual crimes squad had received information from UK police that a user name linked to an email address had sent more than 2000 individual messages to the girl via Skype, which indicated Billimoria' name, address and suburb.
Victorian police were also sent information that included an encrypted hard drive with forensic copies of data from both computers used by the victim, which matched Billimoria from a Facebook profile and drivers' licence record.
Billimoria was jailed for two years and six months with a minimum of 12 months, in which he will undertake a sex offenders treatment program for three years.
