The Republican-controlled U.S. House of Representatives have passed a two-year, bipartisan budget plan.

The House voted 332 to 94 to approve a budget outline that would reduce the chance of another government shutdown.

It would also end the cycle of crisis budgeting that has been a curse to Washington for much of the past three years, the Washington Post reports.

According to the report, the 16-day federal government shutdown in October, largely orchestrated by groups such as Heritage Action, became a pivot point for many Republican lawmakers to begin pushing back against more conservative newcomers.
