In the light of Tyson Gay's doping case, the entire United States 4x100 m relay team has been stripped of their silver medals from the London Olympic 2012.
Former 100m and 200m world champion Tyson Gay, who was suspended for a year after being found positive for a banned anabolic steroid, had already handed over his medal back to the officials, the BBC reported.
The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has told the US Olympic bosses that the whole relay team which includes Trell Kimmons, Justin Gatlin, Ryan Bailey, Jeffery Demps and Darvis Patton, must return the medals.
Meanwhile, the US IOC has said in a statement that they would soon begin the efforts to return the medals and support all the measures to protect clean athletes.
The American team had finished second standing in the London's Olympic Stadium behind Jamaica, who were led by Usain Bolt on their way to a new world record.
