Venus notches up 700th career win at Wuhan Open

Former world number one Venus Williams bagged her 700th career win on Tuesday after defeating Julia Goerges in the second round of the Wuhan Open in China.

Venus claimed a 6-4, 6-3 win over her German opponent to become the ninth woman to achieve the milestone since 1968, Sport24 reported.

However, the American still has a long way to catch all-time leader Martina Navratilova (1,442).
