Congress president Sonia Gandhi on Monday asked the people to chose whether they want a future which will strengthen the democracy or go the other way which the opposition is clamouring for.

"We face a big litmus test ahead of us and you have to ponder a lot before casting your vote. You must decide whether you want a future which will strengthen the roots of democracy or weaken it. These days BJP leaders are changing their disguise and shedding crocodile tears. The opposition is busy in giving you false promises and hopes only to mislead you, but their only aim is to grab the prime minister's chair," Sonia said.

"Whatever development work that the Congress party has initiated is not hidden from anyone. During the last ten years of the Congress rule there has been a hell and heaven difference in terms of the development of the Mewat region. Right from solving clean drinking water problem to strengthening the teachers and doctors or if you talk about education then we have opened medical, polytechnic as well as women colleges etc. The amount of development work done during the Manmohan Singh government has been more than done by any non-Congress government,"

Congress president also talked about several laws which the government brought in the likes of Right to Education, Right to Information or Food Security Bill which she said have benefitted the masses. At the same time she talked about giving Right to Health which will give the people free medical facility.

"We must look struggle for a country where all the people feel the same and have equal rights and not that for a handful few. The people will all feel themselves as Indian and secular where language, religion and caste will not play any role. In this election we will struggle for a country where unity will a big role," Sonia added.
