Delhi's Water Resources Minister Kapil Mishra on Friday said the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is committed to resolving the issue of corruption in the water tank scam involving the ex-chairman of the Delhi Jal Board, Sheila Dikshit and other Congress members.

Mishra had formed a fact finding committee to look into the loopholes in the Delhi Jal Board.

"We are committed to resolving the issue of corruption. Four days after taking oath of office, I had formed this committee. The report of the committee has come, which reveals the amount of money involved in the corruption, and who all are involved in it," Mishra told ANI here.

"I have written a letter to the chief minister in this regard. We will do a proper probe against corruption. Sheila Dikshit's name is there because she was the chairman of the Delhi Jal Board, and there are names of the members of the board," he added.

In January 2015, the Delhi Jal Board (DJB) had ordered a probe into alleged irregularities in the functioning of the DJB under chairperson Sheila Dikshit and Mateen Ahmed, a former DJB member.

In 2012, around 400 water tankers were acquired by the DJB and manufactured by a private contractor after receiving complaints of irregular service. The purchase of these water tankers was aimed at ensuring seamless service across Delhi. The capacity of these tankers was supposed to range between three and nine kilolitres.
