Communist Party of Nepal- Maoist Centre (CPN -Maoist Centre) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said he will cooperate with the proceedings of the Supreme Court with regard to a contempt of court case filed against him.
His statement comes a day after the apex court asked him to reply to its notice within three days.
A tweet posted by Dahal's personal secretariat confirmed the move.
"Chairman Dahal respects the court and will cooperate with the court proceedings," the tweet said.
A contempt of court was filed against Dahal by Advocate Dinesh Tripathi on May 16 as per the Supreme Court Regulations Section 7(1) seeking maximum sentence of one year in prison and Rupees 10,000 in fine.
Tripathi in his complaint said that Dahal's remarks against the Supreme Court hearing regarding the conflict-era cases have gravely defamed the Apex court.
