A Brit couple, who has become the world's oldest married pair, has celebrated their joint birthdays, with husband turning 109 and wife turning 102.
The elderly lovebirds, Karam Chand and his wife of almost 90 years Kartari, marked the happy occasion with four generations of family at their home in Bradford, West Yorkshire, the Daily Express reported.
The record-breakers, who got married in December 1925 after falling in love in India as teenagers, have eight children, 27 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.
Karam, who was born in a small rural village in the Punjab region, in northwestern India in 1905, married his wife at the age of 20.
Proud son Paul Chand said that it has been a special day for his family and for all of them to be able to come together like this.
Paul added that relatives have flown in from India to be with them and people are so impressed by his parents.
Paul added that when people ask him what he is feeding his parents he replies that for the last 20 years they have given them a stress-free life.
The long-retired mill worker, who smokes one cigarette each and every day before his evening meal and enjoys a tot of whiskey or brandy some three or four times a week, said that for living a long and healthy life, one should eat and drink what one wants but in moderation.
Kartari said that they know that they are blessed and they are eternally grateful for God giving them this land and their lives, but they will be ready to go when it's time as they have lived a very good life.
