The German automaker will be bringing-in its latest offering, the updated Audi A4 sedan to the 2016 Indian Auto Expo. The sedan will be showcased as an India-specific product at the Expo, which will held from 5th to 9th of February in the Greater Noida region. There are rumors of a possible Auto Expo launch being in the works, but there has not been any official statement made by the automaker. The sedan finds its foundation in the company’s MLB Evo platform and will incorporate lightweight materials in the body shell and panels. This is expected to result in a sizable weight reduction of around 120kgs.
The overall aesthetics will feature updates that will be keeping in-line with Audi’s latest design language which can be seen in models like TT, R8 and recently launched Q7. The updates will include a revised headlamp cluster and much more sleeker tail-lamps.
Under the hood, the updated sedan is expected to continue incorporating the same powerplant which is seen in the current model. The car, in all probability will be made available in both 2.0-liter diesel and 1.8-liter petrol variants. The diesel mill produces 174bhp, whereas the petrol unit churns out a relatively modest 167bhp of power. The diesel powerplant will outshine the unit seen in the Mercedes-Benz C220, falling short only in comparison to the BMW 320D. The petrol powerplant however, produces the lowest output of the three.
The car is expected to be priced somewhere around Rs. 38 lacs.
