2016 Toyota Innova Launched in Indonesia

The new Innova is expected to be displayed at the 2016 Indian Auto Expo in February, while the launch is expected sometime next year 

After a series of leaks, Toyota has officially launched the second generation Innova in Indonesia. This marks Toyota MPV's global debut. The prices of the new Innova starts at  IDR 282 million (approximately Rs. 13.60 Lacs) for the base petrol, while diesel base starts at  IDR 310.1 million (approximately Rs 14.95 Lacs). Speaking of its Indian debut, the Innova is most likely to make its public debut at the upcoming Auto Expo in Feb, while the launch is expected later next year. 

The new Innova will be relatively costlier than the current one, prices in Indonesia ranges from - Petrol - IDR 282 - 384.8 million (nearly Rs. 13.60 - Rs. 18.6 lacs) and Diesel - IDR 310.1 - IDR 423.8 million (nearly Rs. 14.95 - Rs. 20.43 lacs). Speaking with respect to India, Toyota used to offer petrol option with the Innova, however, it was discontinued due to poor demand. It is expected that Toyota will continue with the diesel option only in the upcoming second generation Innova. 

Mechanically, the diesel engine is a brand new 2.4-liter unit - 2 GD FTV 4 Cylinder In-Line, 16 valve DOHC with VNT Intercooler. The 2,393 cc motor generates 149 PS @ 3400 rpm and 342 Nm in-between 1,200-2,800 rpm. Transmission options available include standard 5-speed manual along with an optional 6-speed automatic.
