Currency In Circulation Rises By 13.10% On Year

The Reserve Bank Of India (RBI) reported that currency in circulation was almost unchanged on the week to stand at Rs 22.26 lakh crore trillion as on 18 October 2019. The central bank noted further that the overall reserve money rose by 1.3% on the week to Rs 28.60 lakh crore. Currency in circulation rose 13.10% on a year ago basis compared to 19.6% surge at the same time last year. In the current fiscal, the currency in circulation has grown by 4.2% so far while the reserve money rose by 3.3%.
