Financials shares fall

Financials stocks were trading in the negative zone, with the S&P BSE Finance index falling 211.81 points or 3.31% at 6183.7 at 13:52 IST.

Among the components of the S&P BSE Finance index, Yes Bank Ltd (down 51.83%), Corporation Bank (down 19.95%),United Bank of India (down 19.92%),Allahabad Bank (down 16.13%),Max Financial Services Ltd (down 13.89%), were the top losers. Among the other losers were RBL Bank Ltd (down 11.97%), SREI Infrastructure Finance Ltd (down 10.31%), Nippon Life India Asset Management Ltd (down 10.15%), Indiabulls Housing Finance Ltd (down 10.12%), and Edelweiss Financial Services Ltd (down 9.15%).

On the other hand, Oriental Bank of Commerce (up 3.4%), CreditAccess Grameen Ltd (up 0.73%), and MAS Financial Services Ltd (up 0.2%) moved up.

At 13:52 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was down 901.98 or 2.34% at 37568.63.

The Nifty 50 index was down 281.3 points or 2.5% at 10987.7.

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was down 273.68 points or 2.01% at 13317.6.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was down 95.96 points or 2.03% at 4626.02.

On BSE,355 shares were trading in green, 1939 were trading in red and 121 were unchanged.
