Hong Kong Hang Seng tumbles 1%

The Hong Kong stock market closed down in volatile trade on Tuesday, 05 December 2017, following cues from an overnight rout in technology stocks in the US. The Hang Seng Index lost 295.48 points, or 1%, to 28,842.80, the lowest close since November 6. The Hang Seng China Enterprises Index, or the H-share gauge, lost 0.3% to 11,484. Turnover decreased to HK$101.9 billion from HK$108.6 billion on Monday. Among the 51 blue chips, 14 stocks rose and 34 fell, with three shares remaining steady.
