Monsanto India slips after bulk deal

Monsanto India fell 1.67% to Rs 2,853 at 15:12 IST on BSE after a bulk deal of 2.85 lakh shares was executed on the counter at Rs 2,880.75 per share at 09:48 IST on BSE today, 21 August 2015.

Meanwhile, the S&P BSE Sensex was down 190.01 points or 0.68% at 27,420.45

Bulk deal boosted volume on the Monsanto India scrip. On BSE, so far 2.90 lakh shares were traded in the counter as against average daily volume of 3,755 shares in the past one quarter.

The stock hit a high of Rs 2,929 and a low of Rs 2,797.35 so far during the day. The stock had hit a 52-week low of Rs 1,961.70 on 20 August 2014. The stock had hit a record high of Rs 3,755.95 on 2 February 2015.

The stock had underperformed the market over the past one month till 20 August 2015, falling 5.43% compared with 2.86% fall in the Sensex. The scrip also underperformed the market in past one quarter, falling 1.75% as against Sensex's 0.82% decline.

The mid-cap firm has equity capital of Rs 17.26 crore. Face value per share is Rs 10.

Monsanto India's net profit declined 11.6% to Rs 62.79 crore on 0.2% growth in net sales to Rs 259.83 crore in Q1 June 2015 over Q1 June 2014.
